Ausable Chasm is a natural attraction that welcomes over one hundred thousand visitors every year. On top of the natural sights, there are five miles of well-maintained trails, a mile long raft or tube ride through the lower part of the chasm, and many thrill seekers participating in the adventure activities. In any of the various positions available, you will be kept active and engaged regularly while working with the melting pot that makes up our massive customer base.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions):

How old do I have to be to work at Ausable Chasm?

We hire all ages from 14 and up, but there are certain restriction within specific positions. (i.e. must be 16 to be a guide)

Are all available positions required to work outside?

If you are seeking employment but aren't keen on working outside all day, there are plenty of positions available in the Welcome Center where you can put your interpersonal skills to the test. (i.e. Ticket Sales, Guest Information Services, Gift Shop, Café, etc.)

I want to be a guide but don't have any previous guiding experience. Does that make me ineligible for a guide position?

Previous guiding experience is definitely an advantage but is not required. If you have a thirst for adventure and good interpersonal skills, we will train on the job for our unique guide positions.

Do I need any certifications to be a guide?

Only a CPR/First Aid (or equivalent) certification is required for all guide positions.

I don't have a CPR/First Aid certification. How do I go about getting one?

We provide on-site CPR/First Aid courses for a discounted rate available to all employees. You can also obtain your certification by searching for accredited organizations online to find a local course to attend or taking one of the online courses that may be offered.

If I have a planned vacation this summer, will that disqualify me from employment?

Ausable Chasm is a vacation destination, so it is expected that all employees are available for the July 4th and Labor Day weekends since those are easily the busiest times of the summer. With most employment opportunities being seasonal, hiring someone that is unavailable for large portions of the summer is not ideal; and candidates with open availability will have priority. It is best to notify us of any such dates on the questionnaire below.
