Disc Golf Course

The Ausable Chasm Disc Golf Course (DGC) is now open! Disc golf (a.k.a. Frisbee golf) is played like regular ball golf except uses flying discs (smaller and heavier than toss-and-catch Frisbees) instead of clubs and balls and instead of a small hole in the ground, discs are tossed into a metal basket on a pole. This highly addicting game is one of the fastest growing sports in the world with over 3,000 courses in America. The Ausable Chasm DGC is located at the Ausable Chasm Campground and Recreation Center in a dense pine forest. Two sets of tee boxes at each of the 9 “holes” make it easy enough for kids and beginners and challenging enough for advanced disc golfers. Play is free for campers and day guests may purchase a Rec Center day pass for $5 ($25 season pass) which includes access to the mountain bike trails and campground pool. Disc rentals and sales are available at the campground lodge. Complimentary lessons as well as a beginner friendly tournament every Saturday in the summer. Call the campground for more information at 518-834-9990. For more information on disc golf at Ausable Chasm and in the Adirondack Park check out the Adirondack Disc Golf Association’s webpage and message board at www.facebook.com/adkdga
